Alpha & Omega CMT

Since 1989 the Alpha and Omega Christian Motorsport Team has been taking the Christian gospel to the motorsport world. The team are based in Suffolk and with their Ford Escort RS Cosworth not only witness at race events with the bible text “You must be born again” on both sides of the rally car, but also share the gospel at Youth, men’s and other outreach events.

The Towncross Engineering South Downs Stages at Goodwood,Saturday 11th February.
It was a sunny and clear day,but Bracing ourselves for the
sub-zero temperatures. This was our first rally in such cold conditions,
this was our 4th time at Goodwood the last being 2 years ago and it was
nice to be back and see old friends.With the first car going out at 9am,
and still freezing cold, we were warned of ice on the track in one particular
area so we made a cautious start.With a spin on stage 3 went wide and
started grass cutting which I normally do with a ride mower at work; I did
find the Cosworth a little aggressive for this type of work. But with
12th overall on stage 4 we had a another spin this time a 360 and then stalling the engine we lost 30 secs We were 17th overall, then on stage 6, well Becky would rather we forgot about it but I think she navigated us off the stage early because she was tired of the spins! We then got a maximum stage time which added nearly 5 minutes to our time this meant we moved to 31st overall. We slowly moved up the field and at the end of stage 9 and 27th overall, so with stage 10 a night stage which I have not done for some years and the first time with this car we headed out into the dark and to then finish 25th overall and 1st in class.
