Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

Dear Alpha and Omega Supporter,

I don’t know if you’ve read or watched ‘Pilgrim’s Progress’, if not, I certainly would like to encourage you to do so. It is amazing that John Bunyan started writing this book while in prison and as I write today 31st August 2020, I was reminded of his death on 31st August 1688. I recently watched part of the animation film that came out in 2019 and I was struck by Vanity Fair. It challenged me into thinking about what I do during the day – how much is vanity and how much is for eternity?

Recently I had a conversation with a work colleague about church buildings and he said  that he very much appreciates the sculptures and paintings and his comment was “I believe that they were done for the love of God”, usually when I hear these words it is as blasphemy but my work colleague was sincere. Now this man is not a Christian and this got me thinking what do I do ‘for the love of God’ and for eternity, or is it just routine, tradition or for the building of my own kingdom? These two thoughts are challenging, what do we do for eternity, for the love of God? – because that is what will have an everlasting impact. We finally received a date for the broadcasting of the filming in December which has been changed more than once! Not only the date but also the name of the programme. Therefore, on BBC2 on the 13th September ‘Stories of Us’ will be broadcast. We trust this will be a blessing and encouragement.

Also, we have been encouraged by an answer to prayers with the number of us now on a prayer walk is 4. Starting at eight and sometimes finishing at nearly midnight. I believe we are seeing an answer to prayer, the new name for the work which I had been struggling with for nearly 2 years materialized on a Saturday afternoon in under one hour – that was amazing! This involves a lot of work – changing bank details, clothing, banners, leaflets, decals on vehicles and so on. Which now requires an increase in financial supplies. We are selling our Ford transit van which we have had since 2011 and hope to replace it soon.

During the lockdown, we have been busy! We keep pressing on and have been seeking and planning to do outreach in December.

Additionally, some encouraging news was that co-driver Adam got married to Grace on 11th July even with all the difficulties with the coronavirus. We trust and pray God will richly bless them in their future life together.

THANK YOU to everyone for your prayers and support as you can see it makes a difference.

To God’s glory.

“Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God!”–  William Carey

In Mark 11 v 22 Jesus said to his disciples ‘have faith in God’. In this passage Hudson Taylor liked to render the three words  ‘Hold God’s Faithfulness’. He went on to say ‘Let us see that in theory we hold that God is faithful; that in daily life we count upon it; and that at all times and under all circumstances we are fully persuaded of this blessed truth.’

May you know God’s wonderful presence and blessing.
